Celebrate Arts in Education Week 2016!

Arts in Education Week (September 11-17, 2016) is a national celebration recognizing the tranformative power of the arts. Designated by Congress in 2010 through House Resolution 275, the celebration is designated to bring attention to this cause for elected officials and educational decision makers across the country and to support equitable access to the arts for all students. It is organized by Americans for the Arts and the national Young Audiences Arts for Learning network is proud to participate in this annual event.

In 2016, it is a particularly important time to celebrate arts education, as we usher in a new chapter of American educational policy with the new Every Student Succeeds Act and its many arts-friendly provisions. In the new law, the arts remain a "well-rounded" subject and are empowered to be central to a child's education in our public schools.
