This year, the Leadership Forum will focus on Fund Raising—new strategies and ideas—and specific challenges for the YA network. The forum provides an opportunity to actively engage with your peers and members of the YA National board in the comfortable environment of one of New York finest private clubs. The day begins with breakfast followed by an inter-active session for affiliate board members. You can meet and share ideas and experiences, and talk about the challenges of board leadership with your counterparts from across the Young Audiences Arts for Learning Network. There will be concurrent meetings of the YA Executive Directors Council and a YAI National Board Meeting. We will all come together at lunch—another opportunity for all of us to mix and mingle.
The afternoon plenary session, for all participants, begins with keynote speaker Rosemarie Garipoli who will talk about the Role of the Board in Fund Raising. Ms. Garipoli is a new member to YA national board and fund raising consultant with extensive experience in conducting capital campaigns, institutional development, planning, board development and fund raising projects for many major arts and cultural institutions including: The Jewish Museum, The New York Botanical Garden, the New York Shakespeare Festival and the Silk Road Project with Yo-Yo Ma. Ms. Garipoli was also responsible for the fund raising and management of Lincoln Center’s Capital Campaign and raised more than $640 million for the Center.

The Leadership Forum registration is $325 per person. This includes a ticket to Young Audiences’ Gala, on Thursday, November 17 at The Waldorf-Astoria’s Starlight Roof, Park Avenue at 50th Street. This year, YA is honoring Arnold B. Baker and Tracee M. Dundas, who support many arts and philanthropic causes in New Orleans, including YA of Louisiana’s charter school. The evening will feature a performance by the violinist Damien Escobar, whose “crossover violin” musical style is a mix of classical, jazz, pop, and R&B. The festivities begin with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., dinner at 7:30 p.m., followed by an After Party with dancing and cocktails.
