Kathleen (Katie) S. Lynn, recently retired Arts Partners Wichita Executive Director, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. During her more than 11 years with Arts Partners, Katie transformed the organization—championing the importance of learning through the arts. She connected more than 250,000 children with memorable arts-integrated educational experiences. Click here for her obituary.
Her work at Art Partners earned her recognition not only as one of the twenty 2012 Wichita Business Journal’s Women in Business, but also as the recipient of the Wichita Arts Council Arts Educator Award in 2014. She was also the first affiliate Executive Director to be appointed to the Young Audiences National Board of Directors.
In honor of Katie’s more than 11 years of dedication to learning through the arts, the Lynn family has established the Kathleen (Katie) S. Lynn Memorial Fund with Arts Partners. Thank you to all who have mourned her passing—and celebrated her life. The Young Audiences Executive Director Council also has established a special fund in Katie’s memory to support professional development of executive directors in the national Young Audiences Arts for Learning network.
