This week marks the beginning of National Arts & Humanities Month! President Obama has commemorated this occasion by issuing a Presidential proclamation. See the proclamation in full here.
National Arts & Humanities Month is a coast-to-coast collective recognition of the importance of culture in America. Since 1985, the month of October has been designated to encourage all Americans to explore new facets of the arts and humanities in their lives, and to begin a lifelong habit of active participation in the arts.
Join in the celebration by finding a 2015 National Arts & Humanities Month event or a Young Audiences Arts for Learning program in your area or create your own event to celebrate.
