New York, New York—Young Audiences Arts for Learning (Young Audiences), the nation’s largest arts-in-education network, is proud to announce the addition of its newest affiliate, Arts & Learning Conservatory (ALC).
Based in Cosa Mesa, CA, ALC is dedicated to bringing high-quality, accessible, and equitable performing arts to children throughout Southern California. Each year, the organization serves more than 1,200 students, partnering with 40 schools in 10 districts across the region.
Founded in 1952, Young Audiences’ mission is to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts. Young Audiences is dedicated to advancing the field of arts-based teaching and learning across the country, with its diverse network of affiliates reaching more than 5 million young people in urban, suburban, and rural communities each year.
“I am thrilled to welcome Arts & Learning Conservatory as the newest member of the Young Audiences network,” said David A. Dik, National Executive Director of Young Audiences. “Arts & Learning’s emphasis on providing quality programs based on the values of accessibility, acceptance, confidence, and creativity, represents an ideal fit with Young Audiences’ own values and priorities for the future. Our efforts ‘to promote national prominence from local excellence’ will be greatly enhanced by Arts & Learning’s contributions to our field and to our network.”
“We are so excited to be an affiliate of the national Young Audiences network,” said Arts & Learning Conservatory’s Chief Executive Officer, Debora Wondercheck. “Arts & Learning is more committed than ever to seeing that the arts remain in the lives of our youth, which we believe is essential to a well-rounded education that sets students up for success in life.”
