New York, New York—Young Audiences Arts for Learning (Young Audiences), the nation’s largest arts-in-education network, is proud to announce the addition of its newest affiliate, Pittsburgh-based Arts Ed Collaborative.
Arts Ed Collaborative has been partnering with educators to unlock the transformative power of the arts in Southwestern Pennsylvania since 1998. The organization provides professional learning programs for individual arts educators, works with school districts to strengthen K–12 arts programs, provides evaluation and consulting services, and organizes regional convenings that highlight innovative practices in arts education.
Founded in 1952, Young Audiences’ mission is to inspire young people and expand their learning through the arts. Young Audiences is dedicated to advancing the field of arts-based teaching and learning across the country, with its diverse network of affiliates reaching more than 5 million young people in urban, suburban, and rural communities each year.
“I am thrilled to welcome Arts Ed Collaborative as the newest member of the Young Audiences network, having been aware for quite some time of their innovative work with arts educators and school districts in greater Pittsburgh,” said David A. Dik, National Executive Director of Young Audiences. “Arts Ed Collaborative’s emphasis on the role of partnerships in fostering powerful arts learning experiences represents a fantastic fit with Young Audiences’ values and the direction of our network. Our efforts ‘to promote national prominence from local excellence’ will be greatly enhanced by Arts Ed Collaborative’s contributions to our field and to our network.”
“At its core, Arts Ed Collaborative is a learning organization and so the entire team is excited to learn and share with other Young Audiences affiliates,” said Yael Silk, Executive Director of Arts Ed Collaborative. “We also welcome new technical assistance, funding, and convening opportunities that will build our capacity to serve.”
