Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern PA Offers $10,000 in Arts Education Grants for Local Schools

September 16, 2016 | jarred@ya.org

At a time when schools throughout New Jersey are reeling from budget cuts, Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern Pennsylvania continues to provide some relief through their Arts Education scholarships to fund arts education programming in New Jersey Schools.

Young Audiences New Jersey & Eastern PA's Arts Education Scholarships are designed to bring extraordinary and inspiring performances and hands-on workshops delivered by YA's team of professional teaching artists to underserved schools. Each program is developed to maximize students' experiences with quality arts programs, provide opportunities to understand the cultural importance of the arts and creativity, and connect to classroom curriculum and their lives.

Grant recipients will work with Young Audiences staff and teaching artists to plan quality arts programming  tailored specifically to their schools' arts education needs. Grant Awardees will also have the opportunity to host a culminating community event to celebrate the arts with their community with support from YANJEP.

All public, private, and charter preschools, elementary, middle and high schools throughout New Jersey are eligible for the grants.

The YA Arts Education Scholarships will be awarded on a competitive basis, with priority given based on a school's commitment to bringing quality arts programs to its students, teachers, and community, as well as a demonstrated financial need. The deadline for applications is October 13, 2016 at 3:00pm. Winning schools will be notified via e-mail or phone by October 27, 2016.
