Drekkia Writes is a dynamic teaching artist, motivational speaker, and entrepreneur from Southwest Little Rock, AR, dedicated to empowering youth through creativity and social-emotional learning. With over a decade of experience, she uses poetry and the arts to help students find their voice and gain confidence.
As founder of Seven of Arts, Drekkia leads two key programs—Big BIZ, a youth entrepreneurship initiative where students build real businesses, learning financial literacy, branding, and sales, and Big SLAM, a poetry slam workshop that hones public speaking and writing skills, allowing students to express themselves through spoken word.
Through her work, Drekkia equips the next generation with the tools to succeed in both business and self-expression, inspiring them to dream big and take ownership of their futures. She is committed to creating lasting change in marginalized communities by unlocking the potential in every student she reaches.
