Katherine Dilworth has worked as a visiting artist in schools for more than a decade. Her programs introduce students to unusual techniques such as needle felting and bookmaking. She brings a deep understanding of arts integration to classrooms and believes that the arts not only engage students, but also offer them a level of understanding and processing that comes through the creative process.
In her own artwork, Katherine combines her interest in two art forms - photography and fiber art - to produce mixed media and collage images that have been sold in galleries in the United States and Europe.
Her goal with students is to create the conditions in which they can experience the spark of promise and pride that comes from making something with their hands, in hope that they will pursue that feeling throughout their lives.
