As a dancer, choreographer, instructor, teaching artist, and curriculum writer, Kathleen Marleneanu uses her art to inspire joy, discovery, and connections.
She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in English and minor in Dance and holds an M.Ed. degree in Learning Systems Technology. In her practice, Kathleen draws from her studies, well-rounded dance training (ballet, contemporary, modern, jazz, tap, hip hop, cultural dances), and the infinite realm of creative movement.
Kathleen started dancing at the age of 10 and hasn’t stopped since! She first danced professionally in Branson, MO, then taught and directed the middle school dance program at Arkansas Arts Academy before joining the nonprofit New Creation Dance Company for which she has performed, choreographed, taught, and directed.
A member of the Arkansas Arts Council Arts in Education roster for over a decade, Kathleen teaches professional developments and residencies integrating dance with academic and social emotional learning for Arkansas Learning Through the Arts, Museum of Discovery, Arkansas A+, libraries, and schools around the state. She designs and delivers instruction for learners ages 3 - adult with an emphasis on creativity and meaningful learning.
